During his year-long fellowship he will examine how independent journalism can best take advantage of innovations in metrics and measurement. Davis is the principal of KLJD Consulting, a strategic revenue and development practice specializing in assisting independent news and information companies and their leadership. Davis was formerly the inaugural CEO and Executive Director of the Investigative News Network (INN), now known as the Institute for Nonprofit News, a consortium of 100+ nonprofit newsrooms in the U.S. As a publisher and digital business entrepreneur, he has over 20 years of experience in strategic development and growth at news and media organizations, is a frequent speaker on the topic of entrepreneurial journalism and a regular contributor to NetNewsCheck.com. As a MIP senior fellow, Davis will write about metrics that are appropriate for independent and nonprofit publishers and how the right tools and techniques can be used to measure performance.
